All website content is generated by independent and unbiased young energy professionals. As part of the selection process, contributors will be upheld to the high standards set for the Energy Exponents team and the academic community they represent.

ENERGY EXPONENT – MODERATOR/EDITOR

During a four-month period, the Moderator/Editor commits to:

  • Revising each day the incoming posts and comments for one discussion channel
  • Writing a minimum of two-three comments a week to keep the discussion flowing
  • Editing the incoming posts for your discussion channel
  • Providing a summary document upon the natural completion of the conversation

ENERGY EXPONENT – WRITER

During a four-month period, the Writer commits to:

  • Providing the Energy Exponents team with 4 posts that qualify for publication, compliant with the user conditions and post/comment guidelines
  • Sending a list with the 4 topics you propose to write about within two weeks after your start date
  • Sending your post for review to the relevant discussion moderator, at latest 1 week in advance of your deadline
  • Writing a minimum of 1-2 comments a week to keep the discussion flowing

ENERGY EXPONENT – GUEST CONTRIBUTOR

Once topic is approved, the Guest Contributor commits to:

  • Providing the Energy Exponents team with a post that qualifies for publication, compliant with the user conditions and post/comment guidelines
  • Writing a minimum of one-two comments a week to keep the discussion flowing for a month or natural completion of the conversation
  • Publicizing the post through your own social networking channels and outreach to increase external engagement on the topic

ENERGY EXPONENT – FACILITATOR

During a four-month period, the Facilitator commits to:

  • Promoting the Energy Exponent at Columbia University, outside of the University, and to the  leading energy companies and organizations (i.e. policy bodies and think-tanks) through a combination of traditional outreach methods and social media
  • Promoting publication of Energy Exponent articles in the leading publications of the energy field
  • Attracting and selecting the most talented energy students to create a pool of Energy Exponent Fellow Writers
