Coal-fired power plants are responsible for one third of all U.S. carbon dioxide emissions each year. Recently President Obama proposed a plan to combat climate change including a measure that will regulate emissions from new and existing coal-fired power plants. The plants will likely only be able to meet these new standards by using clean coal technology, but is the technology ready for the new regulations Obama will propose?
